The lowest score in Ashes history was made on 29 May 1902 in Birmingham, when the entire Australian team was all out for just 36 runs. This inning, made with a run rate of 1.56 in 23 overs, is still considered the biggest mistake in cricket. Although this match was a draw, this score always became a cause of shame for Australia.
Sydney disaster of 1888
