What does the report say?
1. According to the data released by Commercial Property Rental Index reported by IIM Bangalore and CRE Matrix, office rents in tier-1 cities of the country increased by 3.8 percent in the April to June quarter. Whereas in Mumbai this increase was 3.6 percent. Talking about Gurugram, it saw a jump of 3.2 percent compared to the previous quarter and 8.1 percent compared to last year.
2. Navi Mumbai remains on top in terms of annual average growth. Here, an increase of 9 percent is being seen in office space rent. In the report, data from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Noida, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Gurugram, Bengaluru and Hyderabad has been studied. After this the report has been prepared. These 10 cities together cover 90 percent of India’s office space.
Along with office space, the prices of residential houses have also seen a tremendous rise in the last few years. In Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, house prices are reaching record levels. In such a situation, it has become very difficult for common people to buy houses in these cities. At the same time, rising rents have also troubled people. People are paying a large part of their income as rents.
