Italy vs Nepal Scorecard: Italy has defeated Nepal by 10 wickets. This is the first victory of the Italy cricket team in T20 World Cup history. Italy created history by achieving the target with 46 balls remaining. Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca both scored half-centuries to ensure Italy’s victory.
In this match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Italy won the toss and chose to bowl first. No player from Nepal could play a big innings, as a result Nepal team was limited to 123 runs. In reply, Italy achieved this target in just 12.4 overs.
2 brothers created havoc
Justin Mosca and Anthony Mosca started the innings for Italy. Anthony played a stormy innings of 62 runs in 32 balls, while Justin scored 60 runs in 44 balls. Together they achieved the target of 124 runs in 46 balls already. Together they hit 9 sixes and 8 fours. Apart from Deependra Singh Ari and Kushal Bhurtal, all other bowlers were badly beaten for Nepal.
With this victory, the Italian team has moved to third position above England in the points table of Group C. Italy still has two tough matches left, in which it has to face England and West Indies.
Earlier in the bowling, Ben Mananti and Krishan Kalugamage had destroyed Nepal’s batting line-up with lethal bowling. Mananti gave only 9 runs in 4 overs and took 2 wickets. Whereas Kalugamage took 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs.
