There has been a big change in the schedule of Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. The M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru has been excluded from the original schedule and can be officially confirmed within the next one or two days. According to Cricbuj, the hosting of matches in Bengaluru can be handed over to Thiruvananthapuram. Let us tell you that the World Cup will run till 30 September-2 November and India and Sri Lanka are hosting the tournament.
The change of schedule has not been confirmed yet. According to a report published in Cricbuzz, it has been decided to change the schedule on Monday, as the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has failed to seek the permission of the Government of Karnataka for organizing matches at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. For permission, BCCI gave KSCA for 2 more days, yet it could not get permission.
Match will not be held in Chinnaswamy Stadium
Chinnaswamy Stadium was assigned a total of 5 matches in the World Cup. Even the first match of the tournament was to be played here on 30 September between India and Sri Lanka. But after the historic victory of Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2025, there was a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium on June 4, in which 11 people lost their lives. After that incident, the Karnataka government has become more strict about the security system. Let us tell you that due to this change, half or full schedule of Asia Cup can also be changed.
India’s matches will affect
According to the original schedule, the Indian team had to play 2 matches here in the league stage. The match against Sri Lanka on 30 September and Bangladesh on 26 October was also going to be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, but according to the latest update, the hosting of matches to be held at Chinnaswamy Stadium can be handed over to another ground.
Some sources of BCCI, who are aware of the matter, said that Hyderabad or Kerala can be hosted by Chinnaswamy Maidan matches, but it was also told that Kerala is seen to have more possibility of hosting.
