The demand for electric vehicles is continuously increasing in the Indian market and in view of this, Tata Motors is going to launch the facelift version of its entry-level electric SUV Tata Punch EV on 20 February 2026. Punch EV has already been a strong model in terms of features and safety, but now the company is preparing to make it more premium and full of technology. The new model can bring many big changes in terms of design, interior, safety and comfort.
There will be a new and more fresh look in the design
Mild changes will be seen in the exterior of the new Tata Punch EV Facelift. The closed grille and split LED headlight setup in the front profile will remain the same, but the black strip connecting the headlights has been removed, which will make the look cleaner. The slim DRLs and minimalistic design language have been retained. A new scuff plate can be given in the front bumper, which will give a stronger appeal to the SUV. The side profile will remain almost the same, but the design of the 16-inch alloy wheels may get updated.
Interior will be more premium and tech-loaded
Upgrades can also be seen in the cabin of the new Punch EV. The seating comfort can be improved with a slight change in the dashboard layout, new upholstery and better thigh support. Features like 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, two-spoke illuminated steering wheel and rotary dial gear shift can be found in it. Apart from this, the inclusion of voice-enabled electric sunroof is also expected, which will be a big update in this segment.
Entry of ADAS possible in safety
ADAS features can be included in the Punch EV facelift. Features like blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, auto emergency braking and front collision warning can be found in it. If this happens, it could become the most advanced electric SUV in its category. Although the battery pack is expected to remain the same at 25 kWh and 35 kWh, but the company can improve the range through software optimization.
price and competition
The price of the current Punch EV ranges between Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 14.44 lakh. The expected price of the facelift model can be between Rs 10 to 15 lakh. It will compete with Citroen eC3, MG Windsor EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV and Tata Nexon EV.
