Airports shut down: After ‘Operation Sindoor’, India is currently on high alert in view of the tension between India and Pakistan. A total of 27 airports in northern, western and central India have been closed till 5:29 am on Saturday 10 May as a precaution. This information was given on Thursday in the Times of India report.
Aircraft was absolutely empty
Due to the closure of airports, there has been a huge obstruction in air traffic. Indian aviation companies canceled 430 flights on Thursday, which is about 3 percent of the total scheduled flights of the country. Pakistani airlines have also canceled more than 147 flights, which are 17 percent of the daily scheduled flight there.
Global flight tracking platform Flightradar24 reported that the movement of India’s Western Corridor flights from Pakistan’s aircraft and Kashmir to Gujarat was negligible. Sharing Live flight path data and cancellation figures, there was no air traffic in the western part of India between Pakistani aircraft and Kashmir and Gujarat as the airlines kept distance from the sensitive area.
These airports closed
The affected Indian airports include Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda, Halwara, Pathankot, Bhuntar, Shimla, Gaggal, Dharamshala, Kishangarh, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Mundra, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Kandla, Keshod, Gwalail, Kandla and Handan Are. Airports used mainly for military charts are also included in the shutdown.
Airlines escape from sensitive zone
To avoid the sensitive zone, flights are either changing their way or canceling them. Around 250 flights have already been canceled on Wednesday. Air India said that two of his international flights going to Amritsar had to be diverted towards Delhi. American Airlines also canceled their Delhi-Nuyorck flight.
