Tripura government hike da: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Sah has announced to increase 3% dearness (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for all the employees and pensioners of the state at the conclusion of the last session of the 13th Assembly. This increase will be effective from October 1. This decision of the government will provide direct benefits to more than one lakh employees and 84,000 pensioners.

What did CM Manik Sah say?

In March 2025, the Tripura government increased the DA and DR by 3%. Earlier, in January 2025, the Central Government announced a 2% DA growth for central employees, after which DA reached 55%. Despite the 3% DA-DR increase on Tuesday, there is still a difference of 19% between the Center and the DA of Tripura state employees.

At the end of the Otuman session, Chief Minister Sah said: “Our government is the government of the people. After coming to power, in 2018, we formed a panel to review salary and pension.” “We had implemented the seventh pay commission from 1 October 2018.” “The increase in DA and DR will put an additional burden of ₹ 25 crore on the state.” The Chief Minister appealed to the people of the state to celebrate Durgapuja, Diwali and other festivals with peace and happiness.

Employees hope

Welcoming this decision of the Tripura government, a section of employees and pensioners said that they hope that the central government will also announce a DA hike around Diwali, which will be considered applicable from July as per tradition.

Tripura CM further said that so far a total of 33% DA and DR has been given to the employees and pensioners of the state government in six installments. Now, additional 3% dearness allowance is being announced to give the same more to the employees of the state and the pensioners.
