Four people have died in this firing incident, while a total of a dozen people have been injured. Mayor John Lee has given a statement regarding this shooting in Leyland Town. Mayor John Lee shared a post on social media platform Facebook and said, ‘I am deeply saddened by this incident. My condolences are with the families of those killed in the firing and I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The incident occurred around midnight on a busy main street as people gathered for Leland High School’s homecoming game, he said. Four people injured in this firing have been airlifted and admitted to local hospitals. The suspected attacker is still absconding and the police is busy searching for him.
He further said, ‘It was Homecoming weekend, where everyone came with their friends, family and neighbors to have fun like every year in the downtown area. But this time such an incident happened which had never happened here before. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in the entire city and people are hiding in their homes and the block party has been canceled due to security reasons.
Mississippi senator gave statement on the shooting
After this horrific shooting, Mississippi Senator Derrick Simmons confirmed the death of four people and said that more than a dozen people were injured. All the injured in this shooting are adults, who are being treated in hospitals. However, no information about his condition has been revealed yet.
