After the train accident that occurred on Tuesday (November 4, 2025) in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, Indian Railways has announced assistance for the affected people. In this horrific train accident, four people have died and many people have also been seriously injured. Indian Railways has announced an assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh to the families of those killed in the accident. Along with this, the railway administration announced financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to those seriously injured in the accident and Rs 1 lakh to the moderately injured.
South East Central Railway issued statement regarding the accident
After this horrific train accident, South East Central Railway has issued an official statement. In the statement, Railways said, ‘Today on Tuesday (November 4, 2025), an unexpected incident of collision between a goods train and MEMU local took place near Bilaspur station. Ex-gratia amount has been announced for the people affected by the accident. An assistance amount of Rs 10 lakh will be provided to the families of the deceased, Rs 5 lakh to seriously injured passengers and Rs 1 lakh to moderately injured passengers.
Railways said, ‘Relief and rescue operations have been started on war footing by the railway administration. Senior officials immediately reached the spot and are monitoring the situation and the injured have been sent to nearby hospitals. Railway administration is providing all possible assistance and coordination to the affected passengers.
The statement further said, ‘A detailed investigation of this incident will be conducted at the level of Railway Safety Commissioner, so that the reasons can be properly investigated and necessary corrective steps can be taken. Helpline numbers have also been issued for the convenience of passengers and their families.
