A new chapter has been added to Zimbabwe’s cricket history. Brendon Taylor has returned to the team at the age of 39, while most of the cricketers have retired by this age. Why was there a ban of 3 and a half years?
The International Cricket Council (ICC) imposed a 3 and a half year ban on Brendon Taylor in the year 2022. The reason for this was that he was given $ 15,000 US dollars for fixing in international matches by an Indian businessman at the time of a visit to India in 2019, which was also accepted by Taylor.
Taylor was told that he could earn $ 35,000 by fixing in the upcoming matches, but for this he had to join another player with him. He informed the ICC’s Anti Corruption Unit in March 2020, about 6 months after this incident. Apart from this, he also failed in dope test.
