Five accused arrested in the Turkman Gate stone pelting case got a shock from Tis Hazari Court on Wednesday (December 14). The court rejected the bail plea of five in the stone pelting case. Adnan, Kasif, Arib and Sameer had petitioned the court for bail. The court rejected the petition due to the seriousness of the allegations and the initial stage of investigation.
Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court on Tuesday (January 13) had reserved the hearing till January 14 on the bail plea of five people allegedly involved in the stone pelting incident near Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque in Turkman Gate area. The bail petitions of Arib, Kashif, Kaif, Adnan and Sameer were heard.
20 arrested so far in stone pelting case at Turkman Gate
Two more people were arrested on Tuesday (January 13) in connection with the stone pelting incident that took place at Turkman Gate last week and with this the total number of people arrested in this case has increased to 20.
Which people have been arrested so far?
According to the police, those arrested so far have been identified as Mohammad Imran (34), Adnan (28), Mohammad Naved (44), Mohammad Faiz (20), Mohammad Ubaidullah (23), Mohammad Arib (25), Mohammad Kashif (25), Mohammad Kaif (23), Mohammad Adnan (37), Sameer Hussain (40), Mohammad Athar (20), Shahnawaz Alam (55), Mohammad Imran (28), Mohammad Imran alias Raju (36), Mohammad Affan (20), Mohammad Adil (20), Mohammad Aamir Hamza (22), Mohammad Ubaidullah (26), Faheem (30) and Mohammad Shahzad (29).
Tight security in sensitive areas near Turkman Gate
However, tight security arrangements have been made in the sensitive areas of Turkman Gate area. Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain law and order. Let us tell you that due to the anti-encroachment action of MCD at Turkman Gate in the early hours of 7th January, a situation of tension was created in the area. People protested against the removal of illegal construction and reportedly even resorted to stone pelting. Later the police used tear gas to bring the situation under control.
