The Indian Squad’s 15 -member squad has been announced for the Asia Cup. Shubman Gill will be vice-captain, Suryakumar Yadav will captain, while the debate is not taking the name of in-form Shreyas Iyer’s selection. From Abhishek Sharma to Hardik Pandya, Jaspreet Bumrah and Harshit Rana have also got a place in the squad, but there are some players in the Indian team who will be playing the Asia Cup for the first time.
These 5 Indians will play Asia Cup for the first time
Abhishek Sharma- Opener Abhishek Sharma made his international debut in 2024, while the previous Asia Cup was played in 2023. Abhishek’s strike rate in T20 cricket is 194 and has so far scored two centuries in his 17 -match T20 career.
Varun Chakraborty- Varun Chakraborty played the 2021 T20 World Cup, but after that he was dropped from the team. After his return in 2024, he has taken 31 wickets in 12 matches. He can prove to be the main and deadliest spin bowler of Team India in the Asia Cup.
Sanju Samson- Sanju Samson made his international debut in 2015, but he has not been destined to play Asia Cup due to repeated coming to the team. He was not able to do well against England, but before that he achieved the confidence of the selectors by scoring 3 centuries within 5 innings.
Rinku Singh- Rinku Singh, who played the role of finisher in the Indian team, was less expected to find a place in the Asia Cup squad. Nevertheless, he was selected in the squad and a few days after the selection, he has claimed his preparations before the Asia Cup, playing a stormy innings of 108 runs in 48 balls in the UP T20 League.
Jitesh Sharma- Wicketkeeper batsman IPL has reached the Asia Cup Squad in 2025 for RCB. However, whether he will find a place in the playing XI as a wicketkeeper, it is not clear. Especially after Shubman Gill arrives in the squad, a change in the playing eleven combination is considered to be fixed.
