CSK IPL 2025: The five -time IPL champion team Chennai Super Kings have not been able to make it to the second consecutive season playoffs. Talking about IPL 2025, CSK was able to register only 4 wins in 14 matches and finished last in the points table. In the middle of the season, captain Rituraj Gaikwad was injured, MS Dhoni captained the rest of the matches in his place. 1. MS Dhoni
The first name in this list is MS Dhoni. In IPL 2025, Dhoni scored only 196 runs in 14 matches and his strike rate also was just 135. Dhoni came to batting on such occasions several times, from where he could ensure the victory of the team by playing fast. For example, Chennai needed 15 runs in the last over in the match against RCB. Dhoni could not show timing in shots like his old style, as a result Chennai lost the match by 2 runs.
2. Rachin Ravindra
Rachin Ravindra has made a world -class batsman’s identity in international cricket in a very short time. In IPL 2024, he impressed by scoring 222 runs in 10 matches, but this time he was able to score 181 runs in 8 matches and put only one fifty throughout the season.
3. Mathisha Pathirana
Mathisha Pathirana, called ‘Junior Malinga’, made a big contribution in winning the title of IPL 2023 to CSK by taking 19 wickets in 12 matches. He also performed amazing in the next year i.e. 2024. But he has taken 13 wickets in 12 matches of IPL 2025. Pathirana, therefore, remained guilty of CSK because this time he scored runs at an economy rate of 10.14.
4. Shivam Dubey
The IPL 2025 season was well for Shivam Dubey, in which he has scored 357 runs at an average of 32.45. This is also his third best season in terms of runs, but like MS Dhoni, he kept losing his wicket on important occasions. In clear terms, Dubey could not play the role of a finisher.
5. Deepak Hooda/Rahul Tripathi
Deepak Hooda was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 1.70 crore, but he was able to score only 31 runs in 7 matches played in the season. On the other hand, Rahul Tripathi had opened for CSK in the initial matches, but his bat scored only 55 runs in 5 matches. Both these players could not perform as expected
