A shocking incident has come to light from Odisha, where a 5-year-old child kept guarding his dead father and unconscious mother by sitting near his dead father and unconscious mother in a forest area the whole night, even in the bone-chilling cold. The innocent child came out of the forest to ask people for help on Sunday morning (28 December).
This incident took place in Devgarh district of Odisha and this matter came to light when an innocent child was seen asking for help from passers-by on the road near the forest. Police said that the child’s parents Dushmant Majhi and Rinki Majhi (residents of Giananthapali village under Kundhaigola police station) had consumed pesticide due to a domestic dispute while returning home on a motorcycle.
Police said he parked his motorcycle on the roadside and walked about a kilometer into the forest with the child. The police suspect that the three people consumed poisonous substances in the forest.
What did the ASP of Devgarh district tell?
Devgarh district’s Additional Superintendent of Police Dheeraj Chopdar told on phone that Dushmant died within an hour of drinking the poisonous substance, while his wife Rinki became unconscious. Amidst all this, their innocent child kept watching them lying on the ground. The merely 5 year old child guarded his parents the whole night and after sunrise came on the road and called people.
Child handed over to grandparents
Chopdar said that the woman later died during treatment at Chhendipada Hospital in neighboring Angul district, but the child survived. However, he was also given pesticide by his parents. The police officer said that their child’s health is good and after initial treatment he has been handed over to his grandparents.
