On Sunday in Delhi, 6 teams together bid for 97 players for the fourth season of Legends League Cricket. All the teams tried to make their favorite players a part of the squad. All the teams together spent an amount of Rs 30.56 crore in the auction. The auction ended on 16 February.
The list of all the players sold in the auction included many stars like Harbhajan Singh, Chris Gayle, Dinesh Karthik, Martin Guptill, Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Ross Taylor, Carlos Brathwaite.
Even after the end of the auction, the teams still have a purse of Rs 9 crore left, from which teams can directly sign more players and make them a part of their squad. There was huge bidding for veterans in the auction.
All the franchises have tried to keep their squad balanced. The players have been purchased in such a way that the team has a good combination of batsman, bowler, all-rounder and spinner.
Direct signing continues
At present, direct signing of players is going on, only after which the final squad for the upcoming season will be announced. The schedule of the tournament will also be released soon.
Many greats were seen last season also
Ross Taylor, Ambati Rayudu, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, Kevin O’Brien, Jesse Ryder, Vinay Kumar, Shahbaz Nadeem, Manoj Tiwari, Saurabh Tiwari, Upul Tharanga, Thisara Perera, Robin Uthappa, Harbhajan Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Sheldon Cottrell, Suresh Raina, Shaun Marsh, Hashim Alma, played in the last season in 2024. Many star players like Chris Gayle, Mohammad Kaif, Shikhar Dhawan, Asghar Afghan, Lendl Simmons, S Sreesanth, Martill Guptill, Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Parthiv Patel, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Dhawal Kulkarni were seen playing.
It is noteworthy that last season a total of 110 players were seen making their mark in the tournament. A super over was seen in the final of this season. The team won the title by winning in the super over.
