Youngest Batsman to score a century in ODI Cricket: It is every batsman’s dream to score a century in ODI cricket, but there are some players who have achieved this feat at a very young age. Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi created history by scoring a century in ODI cricket at the age of just 16. This record is still in his name. Apart from Afridi, there are many other batsmen who made their mark in world cricket by scoring centuries at an early age. However, no Indian player is included in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored a century at the youngest age.

Top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket

  1. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi is the youngest batsman to score a century in ODI cricket. Afridi scored a stormy century on 37 balls against Sri Lanka on 4 October 1996 at the age of just 16 years and 217 days. He surprised the cricket world by scoring 102 runs in his very first ODI innings, his record also remained the record of the fastest ODI century for many years.
  2. Afghanistan’s batsman Usman Ghani is at second place in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket. Usman played a brilliant inning of 118 runs against Zimbabwe on 20 July 2014 at the age of 17 years and 242 days.
  3. Former Pakistan opener Imran Nazir is at third place in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket. Nazir played an excellent inning of 105 not out against Zimbabwe on 15 April 2000 at the age of 18 years and 121 days.
  4. Pakistan’s another opening batsman Salim Elahi is at fourth place in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket. Salim played an amazing inning of 102 not out against Sri Lanka on 29 September 1995 at the age of 18 years 312 days.
  5. American opening batsman Saiteja Mukkamalla is at fifth place in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket. Saiteja played a brilliant inning of 120 not out against UAE on 30 March 2023 at the age of 18 years 355 days.
  6. Former Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal is at sixth place in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket. Tamim played an excellent inning of 129 runs against Ireland on 22 March 2008 at the age of 19 years and 2 days.
  7. Jersey’s upper order batsman Asa Tribe is at seventh place in the list of top-7 batsmen who scored the youngest century in ODI cricket. Tribe played an amazing inning of 115 not out against Papua New Guinea on 1 April 2023 at the age of 19 years and 3 days.
