8th Pay Commission Latest News: Discussions regarding the Eighth Pay Commission have been going on for a long time between central employees and pensioners. However, now slowly it seems to be changing into reality. The questions that were in the minds of the employees regarding the formation of the Pay Commission and its functioning, now seem to be answered.
In the third month of the formation of the commission, the government has intensified its preparations. Most importantly, the Commission has been given an official office in the capital to start its work. Due to which there is hope that soon good news may emerge regarding the 8th Pay Commission.
The work of the 8th Pay Commission has gained momentum
There is a relief news for the central employees that the 8th Pay Commission has now formally started its functioning. The government has provided an office for the commission in ‘Chandralok Building’ located at Janpath, New Delhi.
The Commission will complete all its work from this office. At present the process of recruitment of staff is going on on deputation basis. Necessary notifications have also been issued for this. Due to which the preparations of the Commission seem to be accelerating.
15 months left
According to the information received from the government, the formation of the commission was officially approved through a resolution on 3 November 2025. Under the rules, the commission has to submit its recommendations within 18 months from the date of issue of the notification.
This means that the commission will have to submit its report to the government by mid-2027. At present, about three months of formation have been completed and about 15 months are still left.
Important meeting will be held on 25th February
The eyes of the central employees are fixed on an important date of this month i.e. February. An important meeting of the National Council of JCM (Staff Side) is going to be held on 25th February. In which many important issues will be considered.
The special thing is that in this meeting there is a possibility of detailed discussion on preparing and finalizing the memorandum related to the 8th Pay Commission. Due to which the direction of further process can be decided.
