Before the Bihar Assembly elections, the Income Tax Department has sent a notice to Purnia MP Pappu Yadav. After receiving this notice, Pappu Yadav shared it on social media platform X and said that it is his duty to help the flood victims.
Pappu Yadav wrote on X, “I have received an Income Tax notice, distributing money to help the flood victims has been declared a crime. If this is a crime, then I will always commit the crime of helping every deprived and victim.” He further said that the houses of the flood victims of Maniyari village under Nayagaon East Panchayat of Vaishali district were washed away in the Ganga. Pappu Yadav raised the question that if he had not helped him, would he have remained a mute spectator like the Minister of State for Home, local MPs or self-proclaimed Chief Minister candidates?

Help was given to 80 affected families
During this period, he had distributed around Rs 5 lakh as cash assistance to about 80 affected families. After this action, the Election Commission registered a case against him.
