After the historic demerger of Tata Motors, the company has now allotted shares of its Commercial Vehicle (TMLCV) segment to investors. This demerger came into effect from 1 October 2025. According to information released by the company, 3,68,23,31,373 equity shares of TMLCV, of face value ₹2 each, have been offered to the existing shareholders of Tata Motors in a 1:1 ratio — i.e. 1 TMLCV share for every 1 share of the old entity. However, at present these shares are not being traded in the market, because their listing on BSE and NSE is still pending. Tata Motors has said that the lsiting process is ongoing, which may take around 40 to 60 days. This means that investors will be able to see these shares in the market by mid-December 2025. Talking about valuation, according to analysts, before the demerger of Tata Motors, the share price was around ₹ 660, while the share of the Passenger Vehicle (PV) unit was listed at ₹ 400 after the demerger. In such a situation, the estimated price of Tata Motors Commercial Vehicle (TMLCV) is considered to be ₹ 260-₹ 270 per share. Investors are now keeping an eye on the listing date and initial price movement of TMLCV — as this could mark a new milestone for the Tata Group.
