BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has strongly condemned the incident of molestation of Australian women cricketers in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Actually, on Thursday morning, two Australian women cricketers were going from hotel to cafe, first a man riding a motorcycle followed them and then touched them inappropriately. Police have arrested an accused named Akil in this case. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has called it a very regrettable incident.
BCCI Secretary condemned
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said in his formal statement, “This is a very regrettable and isolated incident. India has always been known for its warmth, hospitality and respect for all guests. We strongly condemn this incident. We appreciate the action taken by Madhya Pradesh Police to arrest the accused.”
Devjit Saikia further said, “The law will take its course to ensure that everyone gets complete justice. We will review our security system, if necessary, the security system will be strengthened so that such incidents do not happen again.”

Cricket Australia had issued a statement
Confirming this incident, Cricket Australia had issued a statement saying, “The Board confirms that a person riding a motorcycle chased and molested two female cricketers of the Australian cricket team inappropriately. This incident happened in Indore when the female cricketers were going to a cafe. Team security has informed the police about the incident.”
On Saturday, the Australian team registered a big win before the semi-finals by defeating South Africa by 7 wickets. Now Australia is going to face India in the second semi-final on October 30. This semi-final match will be played in Navi Mumbai.
