In which cities banks are closed on Chhath festival?
The information about bank holidays on the occasion of Chhath Puja is as follows. Banks will remain closed in Kolkata, Patna and Ranchi on Monday, October 27 due to the evening Arghya of Chhath Puja. The next day on Tuesday, October 28, due to the morning Arghya of Chhath festival, normal functioning of banks in Patna and Ranchi will not be possible. That means, there will be a total of 2 days bank holiday in these cities due to Chhath Puja.
However, there will be no impact on the digital banking services of the bank during this period. You will be able to use these services like before.
There are many bank holidays in the month of November also
Bank holiday has been declared on November 1 on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava in Bengaluru and Igas-Bagwal in Dehradun. After this, there will be a weekly holiday on Sunday in banks on 2nd November. Banks will remain closed across the country on 5th November on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima.
At the same time, due to Wangala Mahotsav in Shillong on 7th November, normal functioning of banks will not be possible. Also, there will be weekly holiday in banks due to 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th November being Sunday. The list of holidays is issued by RBI. Special holidays are also declared by RBI on the special request of the state.
