These symptoms are included, which also give us the first warning that we are going to be at risk of cancer. CDC reports that cough that doesn’t go away and chest pain are all normal symptoms of lung cancer. According to the Cleveland Clinic, in some cases, Pancoast tumor, which forms in the upper part of the lungs, initially causes pain in the shoulder, upper back or arm more than a cough. This pain may worsen at night and may also be accompanied by weakness or tingling in the hand. Therefore, if there is persistent shoulder or back pain along with cough, it is important to get tested.

Is every cough cancer?

Now the biggest and important question is how to identify which cough is cancerous and which is not. Most coughs are related to infection, allergy or pollution. The difference is that cancer cough lasts for more than 3 weeks and gradually brings with it other symptoms like bleeding, shortness of breath and weight loss.
