5 Cricketers Died On Cricket Ground: Cricket has made the lives of many players. This game has entertained people a lot. But this game has also given some such wounds to the cricket world, which are difficult to heal. There have been some players on the cricket ground who died while playing on the field. The names of players from India, Pakistan and Australia are also included in these players.
Raman Lamba
Former Indian cricket player Raman Lamba died due to an accident on the cricket field in 1989. Raman Lamba played 4 Tests and 32 ODI matches in his cricketing career. But when he was playing a club match in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, he was hit on the head by a ball at silly-point. Raman Lamba was not even wearing a helmet at that time. Due to this accident, he went into coma for three years and finally Raman Lamba’s life left him.
Wasim Raja
Pakistan’s left-handed batsman Wasim Raja died on the cricket field while playing a 50-over match for a British team, Surrey, in August 2006. During this time he suffered a heart attack and died. Wasim Raja played 57 Test and 54 ODI matches for Pakistan. Wasim Raja was the brother of former Pakistani cricket team player and commentator Rameez Raja.
Phillip Hughes
25 year old Australian player Phillip Hughes also died due to a terrible accident on the cricket ground. In November 2014, during a Sheffield Shield match, fast bowler Sean Abbott’s ball hit Phillip Hughes on the neck. As soon as the ball hit, Philip immediately fell on the ground. After this accident, he was immediately taken to the hospital, where it was found that his head was fractured and there was bleeding in the brain. But Philip could fight this accident only for two days and later he died.
Richard Beaumont
English club cricketer Richard Beaumont’s happy day became the day that took his life. On 5 August 2012, Richard Beaumont took five wickets against Astwood Bank Cricket Club. But as soon as this happened, he suffered a major stroke, due to which he fell on the ground. Richard Beaumont was quickly taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, but doctors declared him dead.
Darryn Randall
East London wicketkeeper batsman Darryn Randall also died like 25 year old Australian player Phillip Hughes. On 27 October 2013, Darryn Randall was attempting a pull shot during a Border League match in the Eastern Cape, but the ball missed and hit him on the head. Darrin Randall died from head injuries.
