Now a relief news has come out regarding the injury of Indian cricket team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer. The health of Shreyas Iyer, who was injured in the third ODI against Australia, is now said to be stable. Team India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav told during the press conference on Tuesday that Iyer is now answering the phone and is slowly recovering under the supervision of doctors.
Shreyas out of ICU, condition improving
Shreyas Iyer, admitted in a hospital in Sydney, was brought out of the ICU on Monday. His condition is better than before, which has brought great relief to the team and fans.
Recently, while giving an update about his injury, Suryakumar said, “The first day I came to know that he was injured, I called him, but he did not have a phone. Then I talked to physio Kamlesh Jain about his condition. Now for the last two days, I have been talking to him. He himself is talking on the phone, which means that he is already fine. Doctors are taking care of him, and he will be kept under observation for a few days.”
How was the injury caused?
Shreyas Iyer suffered a serious injury to his left rib cage while taking the catch of Alex Carey in the third ODI. He took a brilliant catch by diving, but at the same time he was hit hard on his spleen, due to which internal bleeding started. Initially he was taken out of the field with the help of the physio, but after some time his health suddenly deteriorated and he had to be immediately taken to the hospital.
BCCI praised the medical team
The BCCI medical team took swift action on the spot and brought the situation under control. Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, the board’s medical chief, wrote in the report that the prompt response of on-field medical staff prevented a serious situation from turning into a potential threat.
The family will reach Sydney soon
According to sources, Shreyas Iyer’s family members are also going to reach Sydney soon so that he can stay with them. Iyer is currently under the care of doctors and according to the doctors, his recovery will be better in a few days.
