A big update has come out for lakhs of candidates dreaming of becoming government teachers in Uttar Pradesh. Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released the detailed examination schedule of Assistant Teacher (LT Grade) Trained Graduate (TGT) Recruitment Examination 2026. Under this recruitment, a total of 7,466 posts will be appointed in the government secondary schools of the state. This recruitment was in discussion for a long time and now after the announcement of the exam dates, the preparation of the candidates has become more intense. The Commission has given information about conducting examinations for a total of 9 subjects, out of which the examination dates for 8 subjects have been declared. The date of examination of only computer subject will be announced later.
The exam will be held in January 2026
According to the notice issued by the Commission, the examination will be conducted on different days in the month of January 2026. The examinations will be held in two shifts. Morning shift from 9 am to 11 am and afternoon shift from 3 pm to 5 pm.
The examination for Social Science and Biology subjects will be held on 17 January 2026. English and Physical Education exams will be conducted on 18 January 2026. The examination for Arts and Agriculture/Horticulture subjects will be held on 24 January 2026. The examination for Urdu and Music subjects will be conducted on 25 January 2026. All examinations will be held in offline mode and examination centers will be set up in different districts of the state.
About 12 lakh candidates will appear
This recruitment is considered to be one of the biggest teacher recruitments ever in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Commission, a total of 12,36,238 candidates have applied for 7,466 posts. Due to such a large number of applicants, the examination centers are being selected with great care.
The examination will be monitored from the control room
The examination will be completely monitored through the control room system. This is the same module which was used by the Commission during the PCS examination. Every examination center will be considered as a sector. Sector Magistrate, Static Magistrate and Police Inspector will be deployed in each sector so that any irregularities or attempts of cheating during the examination can be controlled immediately.
How will the selection be done?
The selection process in this recruitment will be done directly on the basis of marks of main (written) examination. That means it is very important to score well in this exam. There will be no interview.
