IND vs AUS T20I: After losing the ODI series, the Indian team has now returned to T20 mode. Team India is going to face Australia in a five-match T20 series from 29th October i.e. today. The first match will be played at Manuka Oval, Canberra. This series will be a big opportunity for the young players to prove themselves, but before the start of the first match, the biggest question is that how will be India’s playing 11 in the first T20?
Gill-Abhishek pair will open
There is every possibility for India to have the opening pair of Shubhman Gill and Abhishek Sharma. Both the players are capable of giving aggressive starts in the powerplay with right-left hand combination. Gill’s classic timing and Abhishek’s fearless game can prove important on this field. Abhishek Sharma has been in excellent form in recent times and the team management also wants to give him continuous opportunities.
Who will get the chance, Tilak or Samson?
Tilak Verma can prove to be the backbone of the team in the middle order. This left-handed batsman has shown his maturity in limited overs cricket. The team management is faced with the challenge of choosing between Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma for the role of wicketkeeper. Samson has more experience in Australian conditions, so he can get an early lead. His versatile role in batting gives depth to the middle order.
All-rounders will form the backbone of the team
In the absence of Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dubey and Akshar Patel will be the main all-rounders of the team. Shivam Dubey brings balance to the pitch with his powerful hitting and seam bowling. Axar Patel is almost a definite selection due to his accurate bowling and useful batting.
Arshdeep and Harshit will support Bumrah among fast bowlers.
Team India can have a great trio in fast bowling. Arshdeep Singh will handle the new ball along with Jasprit Bumrah, while Harshit Rana may get a chance to debut as the third fast bowler. Harshit impressed in the recent ODI series. His aggressive bowling can prove effective on Australian pitches.
Kuldeep has edge in spin department
Talking about spinners, there is a tough competition between Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakraborty. However, Kuldeep’s record in Australia has been excellent. He has bowled at an average of 16.50 and economy of 5.50. In such a situation, considering the experience, the team can express confidence in Kuldeep. Akshar Patel will remain in the team as the second spinner.
