Shreyas Iyer Health Update: Indian ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is admitted in the hospital since the third ODI match played between India and Australia in Sydney. Earlier news had come out about Shreyas Iyer that he was undergoing surgery, but now Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devjit Saikia has said in a conversation with Times of India that no surgery has been done on Iyer during his treatment, rather the doctors have stopped the internal bleeding in his body through some other treatment.
Shreyas Iyer is recovering
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia told Times of India that ‘Shreyas Iyer is much better now than before. His recovery is happening so fast, which even the doctors were not expecting. The BCCI Secretary further said that ‘I am in constant touch with Dr. Rizwan, who is the Indian team doctor and has stayed with Iyer in the hospital in Sydney. Generally, it may take 6 to 8 weeks to recover from this injury, but Shreyas will recover much earlier than this.
Devjit Saikia further said about Iyer’s health that ‘doctors are satisfied with Shreyas’s recovery. He has started doing his daily life work. His injury was very serious, but now Shreyas is out of danger. For this reason, Iyer has now been shifted from ICU to his room.
Shreyas Iyer got seriously injured
Iyer got injured while taking a difficult catch of Australian player Alex Carey in the third ODI between India and Australia. After taking this catch, Shreyas was seen in a lot of pain due to injury. He was immediately taken out of the field. Shreyas Iyer’s injury was so serious that he was admitted to Sydney hospital. Information came out from BCCI that Shreyas Iyer is injured below his left rib and is experiencing internal bleeding. Now according to the latest update, Iyer is out of danger.
