Yunus is using his land against India, ISI has made a base in Dhaka, what is Asim Munir’s strategy?

After the coup in Bangladesh, the head of the interim government there is busy using his land against India. This is the reason why he does not want to hold general elections in Bangladesh by suppressing the voice of his people. Military cooperation between Bangladesh and Pakistan has increased rapidly since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Meanwhile, Pakistan has quietly set up a special Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) cell within its High Commission in Dhaka.

Intelligence relations increasing between Pakistan-Bangladesh

The way defense and intelligence relations are deepening between Pakistan and Bangladesh, intelligence officials are calling it a worrying sign. The establishment of the ISI cell in Bangladesh followed the four-day visit of Pakistan’s Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza to Dhaka. Shamshad Mirza met Muhammad Yunus and the chiefs of the Army, Navy and Air Force of Bangladesh during his visit.

Meeting with intelligence officials of Bangladesh

According to CNN-News18 report, Pakistani General Shamshad Mirza had reached Dhaka with an eight-member delegation, which included senior ISI officials as well as representatives of the Pakistani Air Force and Navy. The Pak delegation reportedly held several rounds of meetings with top officials of Bangladesh’s National Security Intelligence Agency (NSI) and Directorate General of Military Intelligence (DGFI).

Pakistan’s eye on the eastern states of India

It has been claimed in the report that both the countries have agreed to create a joint intelligence system to monitor the airspace along the Bay of Bengal and India’s eastern border. It is being told that under this, Bangladesh has given permission to Pakistan to deploy many intelligence personnel in its High Commission in Dhaka. In return, Pakistan has offered extensive military and technical assistance to Bangladesh, including joint military exercises.

There will be a defense deal between the two countries!

Dhaka has shown interest in purchasing Pakistan’s JF-17 Thunder fighter jet and Fateh-series rocket system. A high-level Bangladeshi military delegation will visit Rawalpindi in the next few weeks, where several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and defense procurement deals discussed during General Mirza’s visit will be finalised.

The formation of ISI cell inside the capital of Bangladesh is worrying for India. Analysts say that this intelligence deal between Pakistan and Bangladesh can strategically strengthen Islamabad in the Bay of Bengal region, giving it access to maritime and aerial surveillance data.
