Figures (Madar) flowers are considered very dear to Lord Bholenath. When this flower is offered to Shivalinga in the month of Shravan, Monday or Mahashivratri, one easily receives the blessings of Bholenath. Even in Vastu Shastra, the figure plant is considered to be associated with auspiciousness and positive energy.

Importance of planting in the right direction: According to Vastu, planting a fig tree in the south-east (southeast corner) is considered most auspicious. This direction is associated with the fire element, which brings energy and prosperity in life. It is also auspicious to place it in the north-east (northeast corner), because this direction is considered the direction of the gods.

Symbol of happiness, peace and increase in wealth: If the fig tree is planted in the right direction, then happiness, peace, wealth and good fortune reside in the house. According to Vastu, this plant removes negative energy and increases positive power. By worshiping it daily, one gets the blessings of Lord Shiva and Ganesha.

Auspicious days for planting trees: Both Vastu and astrology believe that planting trees on auspicious days like Purnima, Ekadashi, Monday or Tuesday is especially fruitful.

Be careful from these directions: The fig tree should not be planted right in front of the house or in the south direction. Vastu Shastra says that the south direction is the direction of Yama, where planting such plants can lead to financial loss or discord.

Why it should not be planted inside the house: According to Vastu, plants which yield white juice or milk, like madar or data, are considered inauspicious to plant inside the house. It is always auspicious to plant them in an open place outside the house. If seen from Vaastu point of view, the figure plant is not just a plant, but a medium of Shiva’s grace and positive energy. By planting it in the right direction and with devotion, there is happiness, prosperity and spiritual peace in the house.
