Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has once again launched a scathing attack on Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. This time Sarma has alleged him to be a Pakistani agent established by foreign powers in India.
Assam CM did not stop here. After calling Gogoi a Pakistani agent, he said that if he has the guts then he should file a defamation case against him. CM Sarma further said that he will prove his allegations after Zubeen Garg gets justice. Let us tell you that the case of death of Garg, a popular Assamese singer, is still under investigation.
‘Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent’
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Gaurav Gogoi is a Pakistani agent and he is a pure Pakistani agent. If they have courage then file a defamation case against me. I have proof that he is 100 percent Pakistani agent. They have been planted in our country by foreign powers. He is a planted person. He further said that I am saying this with facts. Being a Chief Minister, I am saying that he is a pure Pakistani agent.
Serious allegations were made against Gogoi’s wife
Let us tell you that this comment of Assam CM is part of the ongoing political dispute between the BJP government and Congress. The chief minister’s allegations center on claims of foreign links by Gogoi’s wife, British national Elizabeth Colburn. According to Himanta Sarma, Colburn allegedly has links with Pakistani individuals and organisations.
These allegations stem from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) report submitted by Sarma to the Assam Cabinet, although no details of the report have been made public due to its sensitive nature.
Gaurav Gogoi, who represents Kaliabor in Parliament and deputy leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, has rejected these allegations, calling them baseless and politically motivated. Congress leaders have also condemned these comments and called them an attempt to divert public attention from serious issues of governance in the state.
