Sometimes such stories come to light on social media which touch the heart and increase faith in humanity. These days, a similar story has come to light from Mumbai in which an Australian woman praised the kindness of her Indian Uber driver and said that he was not a human but an angel. While sharing the video on her Instagram, the woman told how the driver took complete care of her despite the long traffic jam, brought her water and food, and flatly refused to take money. This story reminds people that India is not just a country of festivals and crowds, but the hearts of the people here are as big as their hospitality.
Foreign woman stuck in long traffic jam due to Chhath Puja
Australian woman Bree Steel, living in Mumbai, shared her experience with an Uber driver in India on her Instagram account. He wrote that this incident was one of the most memorable moments of his life. “Indian Uber drivers are truly next-level icons,” Brie began her video. She told that she was returning home that day when she booked an Uber. On the way, due to Chhath Puja, there was huge traffic jam on the roads of Mumbai. The journey which should have taken only 15 minutes, turned out to be almost two hours long. She jokingly said, “I wish someone had told me that today is a festival, I would not have gone out.”
The driver showed great hospitality
After being stuck at one place for about 30 minutes, their driver got down from the car and returned after some time with two bottles of water. When Brie tried to pay, the driver smiled and said “You are our guest.” Brie said that she was very impressed by this. But the story did not end here. After some time, when the traffic increased further, the same driver went out again and returned with kebabs and drinks so that she would not remain hungry. He kept saying again and again that “serving guests is our duty.”
The woman said, the driver won my heart
Brie wrote in her post, “I have traveled to many countries of the world, but such an experience can be found only in India.” He said that this is not the first time that he has got such a good experience from an Indian Uber driver. He jokingly said, “I don’t understand why every one of my best stories involves an Uber driver. One drove me to the airport after being stranded in a flood. One picked up my shoe that had fallen out of the auto while walking. And now, this guy has won my heart.”
