JEE Main 2026: The process of JEE Main 2026 for admission to engineering courses has started. This time, the National Testing Agency has implemented many rules to make the exam system transparent and convenient for the students. Under these rules, students will get the opportunity to choose the exam center in the city of their choice. Besides, new systems like e-KYC and live photo upload have also been implemented.
In such a situation, let us tell you today how this time students will be able to choose the exam center in the city of their choice for JEE Main 2026 and how the e-KYC will be done for this.
Students will get exam center in the city of their choice.
This time NTA has tried to ensure that every student gets the opportunity to choose the option of four cities on the basis of his permanent and current address. For example, if a student’s permanent address is Uttar Pradesh and current address is Delhi, then he will get a list of cities of these two states, out of which he can choose four cities of his choice. According to NTA, as far as possible, students will be given exam cities in those cities which they have chosen. So that they do not have to go very far from their home. This is the reason why this time the exam cities have also been increased from 219 to 323.
Live photo will be uploaded in online form
Apart from this, to prevent any kind of irregularities in the exam, NTA has implemented the rule of live photo upload this time. Now students will have to upload both live photograph and recently taken scanned photo while filling the form. Earlier, students used to upload many years old photos, due to which there was difficulty in identification. After this, if both the photos do not match following the rule of live photo, then the system will give an alert. Therefore, students will have to keep in mind that they should upload a recently taken color photo, in which the face is clearly visible.
Identification will be done through e-KYC system
This time e-KYC system has also been implemented in JEE Main 2026. After this, the candidate will be identified digitally through Aadhaar authentication. In this, information like name, date of birth and photo will be verified from the central identity data repository of UIDAI. At the same time, students have to keep in mind that there is no mismatch between their Aadhar card and 10th class certificate. Apart from this, NTA has also made it clear that no student should fill more than one application form. If any candidate does this then action can be taken against him. It is also advised to fill the email ID and mobile number very carefully in the application form.
