When the earth trembles lightly beneath the silent sands of the desert, the world’s breath stops. Is this the beginning of a new era? There is news that America is again going to take that step, due to which the world may once again return under the shadow of nuclear fear. The same history may now be repeated after the test which brought peace to its land 33 years ago. The question is whether America is going to bury gunpowder under the earth again?

America is going to conduct nuclear tests again

Actually, America is once again preparing to show its nuclear power to the world. This is not an ordinary military exercise, but a return to an era which once silenced the entire world. President Donald Trump’s plan is now gaining momentum again, in which he had ordered the Defense Ministry (Pentagon) to restart the process of nuclear tests, so that America can demonstrate its strength in front of powers like China and Russia.

Are nuclear tests conducted underground only?

Nuclear tests do not always take place on land. These are divided into three categories, atmospheric (in the air), underground (under the ground) and aquatic (in the depths of the sea). After the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) in 1996, almost all countries have stopped tests conducted in air and sea. Now only underground or simulation tests are conducted around the world.

Who conducted the most nuclear tests?

Since 1945, more than 2,000 nuclear tests have been conducted in the world. These include countries like America, Russia (Soviet Union), Britain, France, China, India, Pakistan and North Korea. For America, these tests have been a test of both its military power and scientific capability.

This is how nuclear blast happens

The entire area is evacuated before any test. The Air Force patrols, the scientists go into bunkers. When everything is ready, an electronic trigger causes an explosion and the chain reaction begins. There is temperature of millions of degrees, bright light and rain of billions of neutrons. From above it seems as if there has been only a mild earthquake, but inside, a huge crater has been formed, ripping open the chest of the earth.

Within seconds, supercomputers read the data and scientists determine how powerful the bomb was. Then robots and drones take radiation samples, the area is sealed and the environment is monitored for months.
