The Taliban government of Afghanistan is going to appoint a diplomat to India this month. This is being considered a big step towards improving and strengthening relations with India. Indian officials have been told by Kabul that after this, another diplomat will be appointed in late December or early January. India has further strengthened its role as a reliable partner by continuing to provide aid and medical supplies to Afghanistan. Even if the Indian government has not officially recognized the Taliban power in Kabul.
A Taliban spokesperson on Sunday (November 2) expressed gratitude for more than 16 tons of anti-vector-borne disease medicines provided by India. He said, “This latest donation reflects India’s long-term partnership and developmental assistance with Afghanistan. By providing essential medical supplies, India reaffirms its role as a trusted partner in promoting health, stability and humanitarian cooperation in the region.”

In return, India has also strongly supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.
