MP News: Fake notes worth Rs 19 lakh recovered from Madrasa, Imam arrested, know the full story of this case of Khandwa


On Sunday (November 2) in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, police recovered fake notes worth more than Rs 19 lakh from a madrasa. This action was taken on the basis of a video viral on social media in village Paithiya of Jawar police station area. Police arrested Imam Zuber Ansari (33) and seized bundles of fake notes from his room. This matter is being considered serious due to the possibility of it being linked to the network of fake notes.

Police action and recovery

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mahendra Tarnekar said that after receiving the information, the police team immediately raided the madrasa. During the search, a large quantity of fake notes were found in the room of Imam Zubair Ansari. More than Rs 19 lakh have been counted so far and the process is still going on. Police have registered the case under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). ASP said that further action will be taken based on the facts emerging in the investigation.

Big link received from Maharashtra

According to police sources, Zuber Ansari and one of his associates were arrested from Malegaon in Nashik district of Maharashtra on October 31. Fake notes worth Rs 10 lakh were recovered from them. Both the accused are said to be residents of Burhanpur district of Madhya Pradesh and were going towards Malegaon with fake notes. This arrest has proved important in reaching the root of the Khandwa case.

Investigation continues, search for network

An official of Khandwa Police said that after the information given by Maharashtra Police, Khandwa Police team raided Pauthiya village. During the search, bundles of fake notes were recovered from the Imam’s room. The police is now trying to find out from where this supply chain of fake notes was being operated and who else is involved in it. The matter is being investigated at many levels and the police claim that the remaining members of the network will soon be reached.
