India has won the World Cup for the first time by defeating South Africa by 52 runs in the final of the 2025 World Cup. Shefali Verma gave a match-winning performance for India in the final. He also took 87 runs in batting and 2 wickets in bowling. For this he received the Player of the Match award. Deepti Sharma took 22 wickets in the tournament, which was the highest. With this, he scored 215 runs in 7 innings in the World Cup, in which he also scored three half-centuries. For this brilliant performance he was declared Player of the Tournament. Apart from scoring 87 runs, Shefali Verma also took 2 wickets in the final match. He received the Player of the Match award.
BCCI gave 51 crores
BCCI gave Rs 51 crore as reward to the 2025 World Cup winning team India, which is more than the prize money of the World Cup. The Indian team had reached the final for the third time, under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, Team India finally won its first World Cup title by defeating South Africa by 52 runs.
