National in-charge of BJP’s IT department, Amit Malviya has made a scathing attack on the recent statement of Vikassheel Insaan Party chief Mukesh Sahni on social media. Malviya said that Sahni himself believes that the Mallah/Nishad community was subjected to atrocities by the Yadav community during Lalu Yadav’s rule, hence the question is – “Will the Nishad community repeat the same mistake again?”
What did Mukesh Sahni say?
During an interview, when Mukesh Sahni was asked whether the Mallah vote bank would be easily transferred to the Grand Alliance? To this, Sahni replied, ‘We are working hard. The fight for land that you said is the truth, and due to which our people were sometimes in the Congress, after the Congress, our people stayed with Lalu ji by trusting Lalu ji, considering Lalu ji as their messiah, considering him to be the voice of the poor, the backward and the Dalits.
He further said, ‘After that some circumstances became such that injustice started happening to our people. Fighting started with our people. So these people started trusting Nitish ji or by being with BJP, they can say that they will remain together till 2020 elections. But in the meantime we made a place in the hearts of our people. Today, Nishad community in entire Bihar is considering us as their brother, their son or leader. Where there is a huge fight, the wounds may take time to heal.
While sharing the clip of this statement on X, Amit Malviya raised the question whether Nishad Samaj will repeat the same mistake again?
Mukesh Sahni’s big statement – During Lalu Yadav’s rule, Yadavs tortured the Mallah/Nishad community.
“The Nishad community had made Lalu victorious by considering him as the Messiah, but after that a lot of injustice happened to us,
Fights started…
It may take time to heal this wound.”Now the question is – will Nishad Samaj again… pic.twitter.com/V7LBHs4LUF

According to the 2023 caste census in Bihar, the population of Nishad community in the state is about 9.6% and it includes Mallah, Bind, Manjhi, Kevat and Turha sub-castes. These castes are economically and socially backward.
