Ravichandran Ashwin will have to wait to return to the cricket field. He was supposed to play in the next season of Big Bash League (BBL), but is out due to injury. Ashwin himself has issued a long statement on social media saying that he will not be able to play for Sydney Thunder. Ashwin was going to play the entire season for Sydney Thunder. As soon as he entered the field, he would have become the first male cricketer of India to have played in BBL. Ashwin has suffered a knee injury. If he can recover quickly, Sydney Thunder can call him to play in the mid-season.

Ashwin got injured, told himself

Through a statement released on social media, Ravichandran Ashwin said, “I have suffered a knee injury while preparing for the next season of BBL in Chennai. I got the test done, the result of which is that I will not be able to play in BBL 15. I am sad to say this, because I was very eager to play in front of the Australian fans.”

Ashwin told that he would definitely like to come back after recovery. Despite the injury, he has received support from the players and staff of Sydney Thunder. Ashwin told that he will not be able to come on the field, but he will be cheering the Thunder women’s and men’s team fiercely.


Took retirement from IPL

Ravichandran Ashwin had confirmed to play for Sydney Thunder in BBL after retiring from IPL this year. Meanwhile, he could not find any buyer in the ILT20 league. The 15th season of Big Bash League will run from 14 December-25 January. Sydney Thunder will play its first match against Hobart Hurricanes on 16 December.
