What did former Pakistani captain Rashid Latif say to Rohit-Virat while talking about Ronaldo and Messi, the statement went viral

Rashid Latif, former captain and wicket-keeper batsman of Pakistan cricket team, has called Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli as India’s Ronaldo and Messi. Latif said that one of these two must be a part of the ODI World Cup 2027.

Speaking to IANS on the possibility of Rohit and Virat playing the next World Cup, Rashid Latif said, “There is still 2026 left. We have to see how many ODI matches are scheduled and how many of them they will play, but senior players must be in the team. ODI cricket is a long format. If not Rohit and Virat, then at least one must be a part of the team. Sometimes you have players available, but they cannot be included in the playing eleven. Jaiswal is not getting a chance, so suddenly someone like KL Rahul deserves a chance. But if it is not possible to include both of them in the playing eleven.

Latif said, “Both Rohit and Virat are excellent players. They can change the course of the match. You see the last ODI against Australia. Coming back after such a long break, both of them led the team to a great victory. In the first two matches, Virat did not do anything special, but showed his class in the third match. Class is forever. Ronaldo is still playing, Messi is also playing. Rohit and Virat are India’s Ronaldo and Messi.”

Rohit and Virat have retired from Test and T20. He plans to play the 2027 ODI World Cup. With this hope in mind, both are playing ODI cricket. Rohit and Virat flopped in the first ODI against Australia. Due to this, questions started being raised about his playing the World Cup. But Rohit scored a half-century in the second ODI and a century in the third ODI. Virat scored a half-century in the third ODI and made a century partnership with Rohit. Seeing the form and fitness of both, their chances of playing in the next World Cup have definitely increased.
