After Bihar, the process of Special Intensive Review (SIR) has started in Uttar Pradesh from 4th November. This process has also started with full preparation in the capital Lucknow. There are nine assembly seats in Lucknow, for which there are about 40 lakh voters. BLO has now started door-to-door verification.
The process of SIR has started rapidly in the capital Lucknow also. Sarojini Nagar seat of Lucknow is the largest assembly seat, which has the highest number of voters. There are a total of 590 booths on this seat. On which there are 5,96,028 voters. Bakshi Ka Talab Assembly comes at second place. There are a total of 104 polling stations and 490 booths in this seat.
SIR process expedited in Lucknow
Lucknow West Assembly seat comes at third place. There are a total of 416 booths in this seat and about 4,65,982 voters, after which comes Lucknow North Assembly seat. There are a total of 408 booths in this seat and about 4,93,697 voters. Whereas there are total 339 booths in Lucknow Central seat and there are around 3,70,656 voters in this seat.
There are a total of 1550 polling stations and 3789 booths in all the nine assembly seats of the capital Lucknow, SIR is being conducted on all these booths. Assistant Election Officer Abhay Kishore said that for the process of SIR, BLOs have been appointed on the basis of the number of booths.
SP-Congress raised questions on the intentions of the government
Now the politics of the state has also heated up regarding SIR. Both the opposition parties Samajwadi Party and Congress are raising questions on the government’s intentions regarding SIR. SP has also raised questions on the impartiality of the officers and employees involved in this process by alleging posting on the basis of caste and religion.
On the other hand, Congress City President Amit Srivastava alleged that two days have passed since the SIR process but till now he has not been given the list of BLOs. He said that if the Election Commission is impartial then what problem do they have in giving this list?
