The auction process for the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) is likely to take place in mid-December. The deadline for franchises to submit the list of their retained and released players is November 15, meanwhile there is news that Sunrisers Hyderabad can release Heinrich Klaasen. This will also be shocking because the team had retained him for Rs 23 crore in the last edition. However, the former Indian cricketer does not think that Hyderabad will release Klaasen.

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that the chances of Sunrisers Hyderabad releasing Heinrich Klaasen are very slim. However, the former player also said that in the last few years we have seen strange things in IPL.

The last date for all 10 teams to declare their retention players before the auction is likely to be November 15. The auction may take place in the second week of next month (December). According to a report in Times of India, Sunrisers Hyderabad management is considering releasing Klaasen before the auction. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra shared his views on this report and said that perhaps Hyderabad is not keen on releasing Klaasen Ko.

Aakash Chopra said, “There is a lot of talk about Heinrich Klaasen. There are reports that Sunrisers Hyderabad may consider releasing him as it will save Rs 23 crore. I am thinking, you don’t buy a player for Rs 23 crore just to keep him for a year. Then, you release him and buy him back. I don’t think that will happen. As far as I know, there will be no RTM (Right To Match) also because it is a mini There will be an auction.”

Aakash Chopra further said, “Why would they release him? I think it’s just a rumour. I don’t think Heinrich Klaasen will be released so easily and sent to the auction. But, strange things have happened in the past too, so let’s see. We’ll wait and see.”
