The Supreme Court can hear the petitions filed on the Waqf Amendment Act 2025 on 15 April. Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Nizam Pasha requested the court to hear early. So far 15 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the law.
Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna on Monday assured that he would look into the petitions in the chamber and consider putting them for hearing. When Kapil Sibal put the case on behalf of the petitioners in front of Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, the CJI stopped him and said that such a request is a separate process of consideration. The court refused to hear immediately, but said that the petitions will be listed soon. The estimated date of hearing on the Supreme Court website is written on 15 April.
