Now the time has come to prepare for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test i.e. CTET (CTET) February 2026. The notification for CTET February session has been issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and it is expected that the application process will also start soon.
CTET exam is the door for lakhs of candidates across the country, which opens the way to become teachers in government and private schools. The examination will be conducted on 8 February 2026. After the start of the application, interested candidates will be able to fill their form by visiting the official website ctet.nic.in.
Who can apply?
CTET exam is conducted in two papers. Paper 1 (for classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 (for classes 6 to 8). Different qualifications have been fixed for both. For Paper 1 (Primary Level), the candidate must have passed 12th class with 50% marks and 2 year D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education). If the candidate has a graduation degree and B.Ed degree, he will still be considered eligible. For Paper 2 (Elementary Level), the candidate should have a graduation degree along with 2 year D.El.Ed or B.Ed degree.
application fee
The application fee for CTET exam has been decided on the basis of number and category of papers. Rs 1000 (for one paper), Rs 1200 (for both the papers) for General/OBC candidates. At the same time, for SC/ST/PWD candidates, fees of Rs 500 (for one paper), Rs 600 (for both the papers) will be deposited only in online mode, and after deposit, it is necessary to keep the e-receipt.
When will the exam be held?
According to the information released by CBSE, CTET February 2026 exam will be conducted across the country on 8 February 2026. The examination centers will be decided on the basis of the number of applications. The examination may be offline (OMR sheet based), as was the case in previous sessions.
CTET exam will be held in two shifts
The first shift (Paper 1) will be conducted from 9:30 am to 12 noon, the second shift (Paper 2) will be conducted from 2 pm to 4:30 pm.
How to fill the form?
- First of all go to the official website ctet.nic.in.
- Click on “CTET February 2026 Registration” link on the home page.
- Complete the registration by filling your basic information.
- After logging in, fill all the details asked in the form carefully.
- Scan and upload your recent photograph and signature.
- Then pay the fee through online mode (Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking etc.).
- After submission, take a printout of the form and keep it with you.
