BCCI has taken a big step towards ending the Asia Cup trophy controversy. According to media reports, the issue of Asia Cup trophy was raised in the ICC meeting held in Dubai on 7 November (ICC Meeting Today). A committee has been formed to find a solution to this matter, so that the Indian team can get the trophy as soon as possible.
Asia Cup trophy issue raised in the meeting
According to NDTV, BCCI raised the issue of Asia Cup trophy in the ICC meeting. All the members of the ICC Board said that both India and Pakistan are very important for the cricket world and this problem should be resolved in a friendly manner. A resolution was passed regarding the Asia Cup controversy, under which a committee will be formed to find a solution to this problem. Since the main objective of this meeting was not the Asia Cup trophy, this topic was not discussed for long.
The Indian team won the title by defeating Pakistan by 5 wickets in the Asia Cup final on 28 September. But after the final match, Team India refused to take the trophy from the hands of Mohsin Naqvi. But instead of giving the trophy to Team India, Naqvi took the trophy with himself. Since then, the Asia Cup trophy is locked in the ACC office in Dubai.
Big decision taken in ICC meeting
In this ICC meeting, a big decision was taken regarding the format of the Women’s ODI World Cup to be held in 2029. A total of 8 teams participated in the 2025 World Cup, but a total of 10 teams will participate in the World Cup to be held after four years. Let us tell you that in the final of the 2025 World Cup, India won the ODI World Cup trophy for the first time by defeating South Africa by 52 runs.
