Young People Plastic Surgery: If you take a look at social media today, you can see posts everywhere of people in their 20s and 30s, some getting a mini facelift, some a ponytail or deep plane lift. Earlier, facelift was considered only for old and rich people, now younger people have also started getting the surgery done in large numbers. Earlier people used to get such procedures done secretly, but now it is no longer a secret. Many celebrities have openly talked about their facelift surgery. Now many people even share pictures of their before, after and during surgery and recovery on social media.

But the question is, why have people become so desperate to change their appearance at such a young age? Has this world of online appearances made us so insecure that we are ready to spend thousands and lakhs of rupees to get our perfect picture? Or after repeatedly getting Botox and fillers done, people are now finding facelift to be the next logical and long-lasting step? Let us tell you about it.

Why are people changing their appearance?

According to a BBC report, Emily from Canada got a facelift done at the age of 28. She says that she got this surgery done to get a snatched look i.e. sharp jawline, high cheekbones and fox eyes. Emily says that she got six surgeries done at once in Türkiye, which included mid-face lift, lip lift and rhinoplasty nose surgery. The experience of surgery was very difficult for him. She said, “I remember when I was fainting, the doctor was playing my favorite song. I fell asleep, and when I opened my eyes, there was pain on my face and a new face was visible in the mirror.” The pain and swelling persisted for several weeks and it took about six months for him to regain feeling in his cheeks.

Why did the trend increase?

According to data from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the number of people undergoing facelift in the UK has increased by 8 percent in the last one year. Data on the basis of age has not been released, but experts say that now the youth group is increasing rapidly among those undergoing surgery. BAAPS President Nora Nugent said that there are many reasons for this, one of them is the trend of weight loss drugs. Rapid weight loss causes facial skin to become loose. In such a situation, many people get facelift done so that the face looks tight. Also, with the advent of new technologies, facelift has now started looking safer and more natural than before. However, doctors say that facelift is not a normal procedure. This is a major surgery, which should be performed only by an experienced and registered plastic surgeon.

Experts believe that getting a facelift done under the age of 40 is still considered very unusual. It can have serious side effects, such as blood clot formation, infection, nerve damage or hair loss. In the UK, the cost of a facelift surgery ranges from 15 to 45 thousand pounds, while some clinics even offer it for just 5 thousand pounds. According to experts, any person who is thinking of getting surgery done, should first get complete information and get the procedure done only from a certified surgeon.
