China has created a stir at the global level by releasing the latest video of its new and state-of-the-art stealth drone GJ-11. This video has been shared by China’s People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), in which it is seen flying with China’s J-20 stealth fighter and J-16D electronic attack jet. Defense experts are considering this as a game-changer step in China’s new military policy.
China’s GJ-11 is called mysterious dragon or fantasy dragon. This is an advanced Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV). It is capable of carrying out secret missions, spying and carrying out precise attacks by entering enemy territory. Design and Capabilities
The shape of GJ-11 is like a bat. Its design includes radar evasion technology, high-speed flight and long-range attack system. Under China’s new military strategy, J-20 fighter jet and GJ-11 drone will work together on missions. GJ-11 active near Indian border
According to American defense analysis website The War Zone, three GJ-11 drones have been seen at Shigatse Airbase located in the Tibet region of China. This base is at a short distance from the India-China border. Experts believe that China is using these drones for border surveillance and preparation for possible air operations. This can become a new threat to India from security point of view.
GJ-11’s journey from 2013 till now
The first prototype of GJ-11 was made in the year 2013. Six years later, its state-of-the-art model was presented in the 2019 Beijing Military Parade. The new version has such rear design and exhaust system. It completely hides the radar signal, making this drone almost invisible from the eyes of the enemy.
preparation of naval version
According to reports, China is now preparing a naval version of GJ-11, which will be capable of flying from aircraft carriers. If this happens, China’s naval strength can increase manifold and this drone can be used for both surveillance and attacks on maritime borders.
US response and counter strategy
The US keeps its next-generation stealth drone projects secret, but experts believe that the capabilities of the GJ-11 have alerted US defense agencies. America is also now accelerating work on a similar category of high-tech UCAV system so that balance can be maintained in the future air war.
