Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has given his first reaction after the BJP led NDA suffered a crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has expressed surprise when the results of Bihar Assembly elections came out and NDA won the elections with an overwhelming majority. Along with this, he has also expressed gratitude towards the people who supported the Grand Alliance including Congress and RJD.

He shared a post on social media platform X on Friday (November 14, 2025). He said in the post, ‘This result of Bihar is really shocking. We could not win an election which was not fair from the beginning. He said, ‘This fight is to protect the Constitution and democracy. The Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will review this result in depth and make their efforts to save democracy more effective.
Congress won only 6 out of 61 seats
The Congress party, which is part of the opposition grand alliance, had fielded its candidates on 61 out of 243 assembly seats in Bihar. However, when the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the election results after counting of votes on Friday (November 14, 2025), the Congress party, which was contesting on 61 seats, was reduced to only 6 seats.
Congress party won only 6 seats in Bihar including Valmikinagar, Chanpatia, Forbesganj, Araria, Kishanganj and Manihari assembly. At the same time, the victory margin of Congress in Forbesganj was only 221 votes, whereas in Chanpatia this margin was only 602 votes. In such a situation, the difference between the victory and defeat of Congress on these two seats was very less.
