The blast near Red Fort in Delhi shook the entire area. The explosion was so powerful that the ground shook about 40 feet below. This has been clearly shown by the CCTV cameras installed nearby, in which the strong tremors of the explosion and the panic of the people are clearly visible.

Strong vibration recorded in CCTV

The pictures recorded by the cameras installed inside the Red Fort metro station a few seconds after the blast confirm that the shock was very strong. The station is completely underground, yet the sudden vibration shook the walls, pillars and even the shutters of the shops.

The explosion occurred on the road above, but its impact reached the metro station directly below. The vibration of the goods kept inside the food shops was so strong that bottles, packets and things kept on the counter started shaking. In the footage, people are first seen scared and then start running away within a few seconds. The staff is also seen running outside in panic.

The sound of the explosion was so loud that fear could be clearly seen on the faces of the people present nearby. Many people could not understand at first what had happened. Suddenly the smoke and shock changed the atmosphere into complete panic. Some people took out their phones and started making calls, while others were seen running in search of a safe place.

Explosion occurred just above Red Fort metro station

Red Fort metro station is completely underground and the blast took place right above it. Because of this the vibration reached straight down. This type of deep vibration is felt only when the intensity of the explosion is high or the explosion is carried out very close to it.

Investigation continues, security increased

After the incident, security has been increased in the area and forensic teams are investigating the blast. Delhi Police and Special Cell are investigating the nature of the blast, the explosives used and who could be behind it.
