Yamaha XSR 155 has created a lot of buzz in the Indian two-wheeler market with its launch and its direct competition is being considered with powerful streetfighter bikes like KTM 160 Duke. While the XSR 155 comes with a retro and modern design, the KTM 160 Duke is known for its aggressive looks and strong performance. The price, engine, features and ride quality of both are made according to different needs, so it becomes important to know which bike is right for you.

Who is more economical?

  • Talking about the price, Yamaha XSR 155 becomes a budget-friendly premium bike with a starting price of Rs 1.50 lakh. In comparison, the price of KTM 160 Duke is Rs. 1.85 lakh, which is not only higher but also comes in the premium category due to its high-performance engine and advanced technology. That means, if you want a stylish premium bike in a low budget then XSR 155 is a better option, but if sporty riding is your focus then Duke will be better.

Who is more comfortable?

  • If we compare the specifications, Yamaha XSR 155 is a very light bike and easy to ride in the city due to its weight of 134 kg. Its 160 mm ground clearance and 810 mm seat height makes it comfortable for all types of riders. Whereas the weight of KTM 160 Duke is 147 kg and the long wheelbase gives it excellent stability on the highway. That means XSR 155 gives better control in the city, whereas Duke feels better in highway riding.

Retro charm or modern technology?

  • The Yamaha XSR 155 sports a classic yet modern feel with features like its retro LED headlight, LCD display, VVA technology and slipper clutch. The strength of its Deltabox frame makes the ride even better. On the other hand, KTM 160 Duke is completely loaded with modern tech, which has features like TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, Supermoto ABS and off-road ABS. This bike is for those riders who like technology and sporty character.

Engine and Performance

  • In terms of engine, the 155cc engine of Yamaha XSR 155 produces 18.4 PS power and reaches a top speed of about 130 km/h. Whereas the 164.2cc engine of KTM 160 Duke gives 19 PS power and is known for fast acceleration, although its top speed remains around 120 km/h. That means power delivery is better in Duke, whereas XSR 155 gives smooth and controlled performance. If you want a stylish, lightweight, mileage-friendly and comfortable bike for daily city driving, then the Yamaha XSR 155 is perfect for you. But if you are fond of sporty riding, fast acceleration and a bike with advanced technology, then KTM 160 Duke will suit you better.
