In today’s changing times, tension is continuously increasing between Gen Z and Millennials. According to a new survey by Deloitte, the young generation is most worried about money and daily expenses. Many youth feel that their financial future is not secure and this is becoming the biggest reason for their stress. Apart from this, the stress of Gen Z and Millennials is also increasing due to work. 23,000 people from 44 countries participated in this survey by Deloitte, which included 14,468 Gen G and 8,853 Millennials. In such a situation, let us tell you today why the stress of Gen Z and Millennials is increasing and why job and tension are considered to be the major reasons for their increasing stress.
Work also became a major cause of stress
Apart from money, job pressure is also troubling the youth. In this survey by Deloitte, among the people who often feel stressed, 36 percent Gen Z and 33 percent Millennials said that their job is the biggest source of their stress. In fact, long working hours, lack of appreciation for work and unfair office environment all together are increasing stress. This survey has revealed that many people still remain anxious and stressed throughout the day. After Corona, challenges like burnout, uncertainty and fatigue remain. These things still affect mental health.
Youngsters are afraid to speak out at work
A big concern that has come to light in this survey is that many youth are afraid to tell their problems in the office. More than one-third of the Gentiles say that they fear that if they raise their voice, it could have a negative impact on their job. At the same time, this fear increases further in people who are under more stress than before. According to this survey, 62 percent Gen Z and 61 percent Millennials hesitate in telling about work problems. According to the survey, more than 60 percent of stressed youth feel that their company is not working properly. They have complaints regarding transparency, decisions and office culture. Due to this, the distance between youth and companies is increasing further.
Increasing loneliness among youth
According to this survey conducted by Deloitte, every third Gen G feels lonely. Whereas among the youth who have more stress, this number is more than 60 percent. According to this survey, even after hybrid and work from home work, the problem of loneliness is not ending. Apart from this, about 30 percent of Gen Z say that they feel that their work is of no use. Due to this, their interest in work is decreasing and mental fatigue is increasing. Apart from this, many youth do not like to be controlled on every small thing in the office. At the same time, micro management significantly reduces their stress, fatigue and work excitement.
Mental health support increased but people are using it less
According to this survey, many companies have now started providing support related to mental health. Like companies have started counselling, wellness programs and helplines for their employees. But the number of youth who use them is still less. Whereas among those who are under more stress, only 46 percent Gen G and 48 percent Millennials participate in the IP program. According to WHO, every year 12 billion working days are wasted in the world due to depression and anxiety. It is clear from this that mental health affects not only individuals but also the economy.
